Data Deletion

Snack App has no accounts and no backend server, so there is no copy of your data on our side to ask us to delete. Everything you create - snacks, goals, streaks, settings, custom exercises - is stored on your device, and, if you switched automatic backup on, in your own iCloud or Google Drive.

That means deletion is entirely in your hands. Depending on what you turned on, your data can be in up to three places, so here is each one.

On your device

Uninstall the app. That removes the local database and everything in it. There is no waiting period and nothing left behind on the device.

If you want to keep a copy before you delete anything, export one first from Settings → Data & privacy → Backup & export.

In your iCloud (iPhone)

If you turned on automatic iCloud backup, a backup file is kept in your own iCloud storage, in an area used only by Snack App. Deleting the app does not remove it - that is deliberate, so reinstalling can offer your data back. To delete it:

  1. Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
  2. Tap iCloud, then Manage Account Storage.
  3. Tap Snack App, then Delete Data from iCloud.

In your Google Drive (Android)

If you turned on automatic Google Drive backup, the backup is kept in Drive's hidden app-data area for Snack App. It belongs to your Google account rather than to the installed app, so uninstalling the app does not remove it. To delete it:

  1. Go to drive.google.com and open Settings.
  2. Click Manage apps and find Snack App.
  3. Click Options, then Delete hidden app data. The same menu has Disconnect from Drive, which also revokes the app's access.

Backup files you exported yourself - to Files, Dropbox, or anywhere else you picked - are ordinary files in that destination, and you delete them there like any other file.

Anonymous analytics and crash reports

Two things do leave your device: anonymous usage events and anonymous crash reports, both used only to fix bugs and decide what to improve. Neither is tied to an account, an email address, or an advertising identifier, because the app has none of those - so there is no record of "you" to look up and erase.

You can stop the usage events at any time: Settings → Data & privacy → Share anonymous usage. From version 2.1.6 you can stop crash reports too: Settings → Data & privacy → Share crash reports (earlier versions have no switch for them). A crash report is sent only when something goes wrong, and it carries nothing that identifies you. What each one does and doesn't contain is set out in full in our Privacy Policy.
